Corporate Business Developer - London
Salary: £40-70,000, commensurate with experience
One of the Global broking houses is looking to attract a Business Developer to work in their UK Corporate team in the City.
The team focus on Property, Casualty and Motor business; mainly UK but with a small amount of international exposure. They have a prospect-development function which feeds warm leads/appointments into the team, then it is the responsibility of the Business Developer to persuade the prospective client to review their insurance cover. This can take multiple calls/meetings over a period of time and once the opportunity is opened up, the Business Developer will coordinate an insurance programme and new business presentation with the ultimate goal of securing the client. This may involve other members of the broking team as well as representatives from specialist teams such as Aerospace or Financial Lines. Once won, the client is then passed to a separate broking team to service and retain.
This diverse role requires a broad skill-set including the ability to persuade, influence and close, strong relationship building and consultative selling skills as well as the capability to project manage complex programmes and people. Knowledge of Property and Casualty insurance is essential and an overview of other classes would be advantageous. Candidates are welcome to apply from an SME or corporate environment, providing they have client facing development experience for a Broker.
