This global insurer is known for providing market leading insurance and risk management solutions to the corporate world, an experienced senior underwriting figure is now required to lead and drive this thriving underwriting function in the Yorkshire market with responsibility for all aspects of team and portfolio management.

The Role

·You will take responsibility for the Yorkshire region's corporate book, tasked with ensuring growth and profitability of an account already performing ahead of target.
·Your role will form part of the management team and will encompass all aspects of team management - coaching, mentoring and developing an experienced team to deliver for your broker panel in an efficient, professional manner.
·As technical lead you will hold senior sign off for the branch as well as liaison with head office.
·You will also lead on quality, compliance, underwriting strategy, appetite, targets and L&D.
·The business is active in the regional market and this role will contribute to that, you will use your knowledge and reputation to leverage interaction with senior stakeholders.


·You will demonstrate a track record of people and portfolio management, gained within the corporate insurance market - this may be in a similar role or in a deputy/'number 2' capacity which has left you ready to step into the top job.
·A mix of technical underwriting, commercial and communication skills will be essential - the roles calls for an all-rounder who is able to lead and drive the regional team.
·A strong reputation and connections in the local market are advantageous, ACII is preferred, but not essential.
