Package: £60,000 - £90,000 + car, package, bonus and LTIP

One of the UK insurance market's most progressive underwriting agencies is looking to appoint a proven Development Underwriter with experience of niche P&C business, to lead growth in the Midlands and North of England.

·The business is long established in the UK marketplace, yet continues to grow through innovative products and an entrepreneurial approach aimed at writing business and supporting broker and intermediaries.
·The business has strong international backing, enabling them to invest in technology and infrastructure as well as to hire the markets best talent.
·This role is created by ongoing growth, fuelled by above target results.

The Role

·You will lead development for the business in the north of England, armed with an attractive property and casualty product portfolio as well as the authority and autonomy to make commercial and underwriting decisions.
·This front line, market facing role will see you lead on relationships with key stakeholders at supporting brokers, working with them to increase market share within specialist areas of the market.
·You will hold senior underwriting authority for the region, acting as referral for cases that may need to commercial approach.
·The role contributes to the leadership team.


·You will demonstrate a track record of development underwriting, growing accounts and increasing market share with commercial insurance brokers in the Midlands and/or North.
·The role requires a mix of technical underwriting knowledge and experience as well as relationship management and sales skills.
·You will be polished, professional and ambitious, with the ability to work autonomously to set out and deliver a regional development plan.
·ACII qualification is preferred, but not essential.
