Insurance Manager

Your New Job:
In this newly created position you will focus on developing the relationships with capacity providers and other key TP service providers ,thus, ensuring the delivery of outstanding service and results.

Some Key Responsibilities:

Manage insurance capacity - You will manage the relationship with our capacity providers. Working with in-house underwriting and analytics function, you will produce and present a monthly snapshot of the overall account performance against targets, developing & proposing upcoming underwriting initiatives and support the overall strategic narrative.

Oversight of claims performance - Having agreed KPI's to track & measure claims performance, you will manage the claims function against these targets at the Monthly Business Review. You will ensure capacity providers get the best possible commercial performance, whilst delivering operational excellence.

Supply Chain Control - Any external service we require in the delivery of our products and propositions requires end-to-end performance management. Using an agreed set of KPIs, you will ensure that all these services are delivered against their commercial targets.

Standard Reporting and Monthly Business Reviews - You will be responsible for creating meaningful Management Information allowing you to take action and to ensure optimal performance, specifically: -
Weekly claims movement reports and summary of weekly claims case clinics;
Monthly claims dashboard- detailing over and under performance for both BAU KPI's and wider claims initiatives. Supporting narrative to detail challenges and wins for the month - alongside an agreed action plan for upcoming initiatives.
Monthly Business Review packs - pulling together the data, analyses and narrative for the overall commercial performance of the portfolio.

Review & audit - As part of our contractual agreements with external parties, there are review and audit rights. You will ensure that adequate terms of reference are in place for all relevant audit and review functions, that these reviews and audits are conducted in accordance with the agreed terms of reference and that actions are taken promptly to remedy identified shortcomings. You will also oversee any external advisors that are engaged.

You will support the Operations Director in all technical areas concerning the sourcing, renewing or replacing of insurance capacity, claims third-party administrators and other relevant business partners.

What You Need To Bring:

Your background should include sufficient and solid experience of either managing or supplying capacity within General Insurance. The ideal candidate will come from an MGA background.
You will need an insight in underwriting, claims and supply chain management to understand the key levers and drivers in delivering a healthy underwriting result.

Results driven - You will understand that your delivery is dependent on your ability to influence others, you will hold yourself accountable for their delivery.

Interpersonal skills - You will need to tread a fine line to manage good working relationships, whilst ensuring your counterparts continue to add-value.

Analytical - Proficient in Excel and other BI tools, you will be able to analyse, interpret and simplify large volumes of data. You will be able to report trends, spot inaccuracies and use analytical insights to improve performance. Equally, you will be able to interpret the performance of other insurers from external market data, annual reports or publications to understand and support requirements for pricing or product changes.
