Commercial Account Executive – Inherited Portfolio
One of the most respected names in the Yorkshire broking community seeks a quality Commercial Account Executive to inherit a substantial portfolio of commercial and corporate risks. This role has arisen due to the retirement of a Senior Account Executive, so unlike other roles, the account will not be attacked by the incumbent A/E who is simply moving on to pastures new.
Indeed, this is very much a longstanding and loyal account that has been built over many years, and the Account Handling Team has strong connections to key personnel within the insured companies. This broker is fully independent and is known for its commitment to client service, its ethics and the technical skills of its staff. It is also recognised as being a great place to work; boasting a flat management structure, a friendly environment and real sense of camaraderie as the team work towards shared goals and objectives.
This portfolio includes some of the firm’s most prestigious accounts from a wide range of industry sectors, both blue and white collar. As such, it is essential that you are very much a ‘safe pair of hands’ who will appreciate that this is quite a visible position within the company, and can demonstrate a real focus on client service and quality to less experienced colleagues. You must be a ‘general practitioner’ who is comfortable building rapport with clients from all backgrounds and confident dealing with large premium, complex risks.
Ideally, you will have made progress towards professional qualifications under the Chartered Insurance Institute but this is by no means essential for those candidates who can demonstrate relevant experience and a knowledge of all common commercial covers. Given this firm’s focus on quality, you must have great integrity, pride yourself on producing first class work, and never cut corners. You must have excellent communication skills (both written and verbal), be highly presentable, and able to produce excellent reports and documentation.
This firm is not known for ‘low balling’ on the package, so alongside a completely negotiable basic salary, you will receive a company car / allowance, bonus, and comprehensive benefits, including support towards professional qualifications, if desired. As this is a senior role, our client takes a sensible approach to work life balance and your physical attendance in the office. Coupled with local parking and the proximity of the motorway, train station and main arterial roads, it is a feasible commute for candidates from across Yorkshire.
Whilst this role will undoubtedly appeal to many candidates, Aston Charles is keen to speak the brightest and best Account Executives in the Yorkshire market in regards to this opportunity. As such, we will be happy to pay a generous referral fee should well-connected insurance professionals be able to successfully recommend a candidate to us. To find out more about our referral programme, or to apply for position yourself, please contact Richard Jones in confidence.
