Claims Technician
Job Summary
The Claims Technician is a member of a small service team providing support to various departments of the Group.
The Claims Technician fulfils the management of the treaty and facultative/direct losses reported to London through Xchanging and direct from brokers.

Key duties and responsibilities
Claims Operations
·Daily monitoring, processing and reporting of electronic claims messages. Manage query resolution between different teams.
·Monitor, report and analyse operational performance KPI's, including root cause problem solving to identify improvements.
·Report and monitor CAT loss statistics

Accounting
·Reconcile accounts alongside Technical Accounting team as required

Claims Processing
·Support claims adjusters
·Inputting of financials
·Updating the diary system within the Claims Platform
·Upload claims

Claims Adjusting
·Within a pre-agreed personal authority to commit the Company, handle, assess and respond promptly and appropriately to all individual loss presentations on the assigned business reviewing all aspects of coverage, legal liability, quantum and reserving.
·Use of ECF2/Class
·Monitor claims assigned to yourself, including static claims
·Upload and file documentation
·Perform workload management including emails (personal inbox and claims admin inbox)
·Participation as Business Support Layer for the monitoring and reporting to claims, underwriting, actuarial (pricing and reserving) details of claims movements likely to impact performance and/or development of the business

Delivering customer service
·Liaise with claims colleagues and other stakeholders to ensure the provision of an exemplary service to internal and external customers
·Gather relevant information from customers to determine requirements, improve service levels and enhance customer satisfaction
·Respond speedily and accurately to any requests or queries raised

Key Experience:
·Good technical knowledge of Legal principles, policy wordings and insurance market practice relevant to the handling and reserving of claims across our main lines of business as follows:
·Knowledge in one or more of the following areas:
·Treaty - Motor / PI / Property / Casualty
·Fac - Liability / Property / Construction / Marine, Offshore & Onshore Energy / Aviation / BI / UK
·Knowledge of the insurance and reinsurance London market practices, codes of conduct and industry bodies
