Regional growth has created the opportunity for an underwriting professional to join one of the UK's leading commercial insurers, servicing new and renewal business in the Manchester market.

The role is ideal for an individual in an assistant underwriting/underwriting assistant role looking to develop their career by gaining full licence and the authority to write business based on their own knowledge and judgement.

The Role

·Working with your panel of Manchester and North West broking firms, your role will be to underwrite profitable new and renewal business in an efficient, professional manner.
·The role is focused on commercial business, often combined as well as standalone property, liability and (to a lesser extent) motor - case sizes will depend on your experience and more complex, challenging cases will be allocated as you develop.
·Based in a fast paced, commercial environment, you will enjoy regular interaction with your panel to answer queries accurately as well as to asses and write new and renewal cases within your authority.


·With a grounding in commercial insurance you will be seeking the opportunity to develop your career with a leading insurer where you will be given underwriting authority and license that will grow as you develop professionally.
·It is likely that you will come from an underwriting environment, probably as an AU/UA, although candidates with a broking background and the required technical and analytical skills will be considered.
·You will be professional, ambitious and driven by providing outstanding service as well as possessing strong communication, numerical and analytical skills.
·Work towards CII qualifications is preferred, but not essential.
