You're a Senior Leader of a national/global broking business which is great to have on your CV, but you may feel that you are restricted with what you can and can't do.

Decisions aren't made quickly and efficiently and your power has been stripped away from you. Red tape around you, lack of autonomy and disengaged staff. You know full well you deserve better than this.

OR…. You may be a Director/Senior Account Director for a small independent insurance Broker, you're comfortable in your role but you are not receiving the backing from your CEO to really push the business forward. There's plenty of opportunity out there you can see with your own eyes, but despite your efforts and ideas, you just can't see the investment being made from above.

Something quite special (and don't forget, rare!) has arisen in the Yorkshire/East Yorkshire insurance market. IDEX has been retained to appoint a Managing Director to join a highly rated broking business, on track to become one of the leading INDEPENDENTLY OWNED insurance Brokers in the UK over the next 5 years.

You will be joining a family owned, community broker with a significant track record of success. Their capabilities including insurance broking and risk management, underwriting, employment services, wealth management and accident investigation services.

Just to give you a flavour of some of their specialist lines, this includes property owners, construction, manufacturing, commercial property and leisure.

Spearheading two offices across Yorkshire/East Yorkshire (22 staff in total) you will be controlling a £5mil GWP region (£1mil income), you will look to coach and support teams of Account Executives and support staff to become better at what you do.

You have a passion for driving income not by 'cracking the whip' but encouraging your team to become trusted advisors, showing them how to identify gaps in cover and how to provide the best possible service to their client base.

You will operate in a strategic role as the Managing Director for the North, where you will drive the business through organic growth, talent acquisition and new business.

A lucrative salary/package is on offer for the right person…. Negotiable in fact however we are thinking a salary in the range of £90,000 - £110,000+ might be a nice reward!

You will earn a healthy bonus based on your success and be given the autonomy to bring 'people' with you…. As long as they share similar values to yourself and would be an asset to the business this will be encouraged.

What have you got to offer?

First and foremost, you will be a passionate Senior Leader in the UK insurance broking market. You have led successful teams over the years and have a track record of driving continual growth for an independent or national brokerage.

You may also be an ambitious #2 or Senior Account Director who's needing your break to move up into an Managing Director role. Think of the football expression 'bursting on to the scene' - If you have led successful teams but never had the opportunity to progress to board level, this could be you!

Location wise you will ideally be based in Yorkshire/East Yorkshire. This could be Leeds, Hull, York, Harrogate, Scunthorpe, or Sheffield. That said, we will consider individuals from across the UK as long as you are willing to travel frequently to both locations in Yorkshire.

We possibly may consider individuals from an Insurer background but you must evidence knowledge of running a broking business and how your skills can be best utilised to do this.
