Liability Underwriter

We are currently representing a highly respected global insurer with a universally recognised brand. Based from prestigious city centre offices, their Manchester operation focuses on delivering commercial insurance solutions via a diverse panel of brokers throughout the UK.

Our client is looking to recruit an experienced Commercial Underwriter to join their team, responsible for taking referrals from brokers using their online trading platform.  Working with intermediaries throughout the UK your primary focus will be underwriting both new and renewal business with premiums in the SME to mid-market space across a broad range of sectors and trades.

To apply for the position, you must have previous Liability underwriting experience, sound commercial acumen and a solution led approach. A new created role within the team you will be responsible for dealing with more complex referrals and escalations, managing both open market and facilities risks whilst building robust relationships with a diverse broker panel. Essentially you must possess strong communication and negotiation skills to complement your technical underwriting skills.
