About the role:
Suitable candidate for the position will be looking at furthering their career within the insurance market, working as a Marine Technician within a respected Lloyds broker.
You will need a minimum of 2 years' experience within a similar role and will need to be able to cope with a busy working environment, dealing with various tasks throughout the day. You must also have a flexible and responsible attitude as you will be working within a predominately younger team which may, at times, require technical mentoring.
Reporting directly to the Operations and Technical Manager you will be responsible for the following duties:
*Calculating premiums and processing entries on to our inhouse broking system.
*Renew and/or set up new line-slips on to our "in house" system.
*Review and process line-slip declarations as and when required.
*Production of insurance documentation (eg: slips, cover notes, endorsements etc).
*Provide guidance and technical training to junior members of the team where required.
*Produce debit/credit notes and closings for Underwriters.
*Daily use of Xchanging and be competent with bureau submissions.
*Production of LPAN's.
*Liaise with the bureau in order to resolve any queries that may arise.
*Build and sustain relationships with other team members in order to resolve any processing problems.
*Be responsible for own workflows, filling in accurate data within an "inhouse" system so reports can be accessed by Management when required.
*Always maintain an organised working environment (personal desk-space and immediate WIP piles).
*Keep required records, reports and files in an organised manner and locate these for Management when required.
*Dealing with any ad hoc enquiries.
This is a pivotal role within the company and therefore demands a responsible and flexible attitude.
The ideal candidate will need to have strong computer skills and will be trained to use our inhouse "Riskpro" system. Good communicational skills and organisational skills are also essential.
Ability to communicate effectively and professionally both verbally and in writing with clients, colleagues, insurers and other associates.
